Unlike traditional projection, they offer superior brightness, exceptional contrast ratios for deep blacks and vivid colours, wide viewing angles. By seamless modular designs, they allow for creative shapes and large-scale installations. So, are you looking for this kind of visually impactful LED screen? Do you know how to choose and the approximate price range?
Selecting the perfect auditorium LED display size isn’t just about the physical space available; it’s primarily dictated by how far your audience will be sitting from the screen. The key factor here is pixel pitch (P), measured in millimeters (mm), which represents the distance between the centers of two adjacent LED pixels. A smaller pitch means pixels are closer together, resulting in a higher resolution and a sharper image, but naturally at a higher cost per square meter. Generally speaking, LED screen sizes for auditoriums range from 10㎡ (small school halls) to 100㎡ or more for large public venues.
For audiences very close to the screen, you need a fine pixel pitch LED display, such as P1.2 to P2.5. This LED video wall can make the image remain sharp and individual pixels. They aren’t discernible, preventing a distracting “screen door” effect.
This is a common range for many auditorium seating layouts. P2.6 to P3.9 LED displays offer an excellent balance of image quality and cost-effectiveness. The resolution is sufficient for clear visuals without the premium price of the finest pitches.
For large auditoriums , you can choose a coarser pixel pitch ,such as P4.0 to P6.0 or higher. At these distances, the human eye naturally blends the pixels, and the brightness and size of the display become more critical than ultra-fine detail.
A general guideline is that the minimum screen height should be approximately 1/6th to 1/8th of the distance to the farthest viewer. For example, if your last row is 24 meters away, the screen height is at least 3 meters (24/8). The width is then determined by your content aspect ratio , you can choose commonly 16:9 aspect ratio.
When selecting an LED screen for your auditorium, you should think about your goals: Do you want a permanent backdrop for stage events, or a flexible display for multiple functions? Are your audiences seated close, requiring high resolution, or is pixel density less critical due to distance?
