Outdoor advertising LED display is becoming more and more popular, you can see LED display everywhere. For outdoor advertising projects, more and more customers may choose P10 and P16 LED display, but which one is better?
Generally speaking, For outdoor LED displays, the pixel pitch is lower than P10, and the brightness is about 5,000-6,500CD/square meter. For P10 and P16 DIP LED display, the brightness can be around 7,000-10,000 CD / sq. m. P10 and P16 use DIP LEDs, where the LED chip size is larger than SMD LEDs. therefore, their brightness will be higher than SMD LED displays. When P10 SMD and P16 DIP LED displays are placed in one place, the viewer will be easily attracted to the brighter one. In this way, the content displayed in the brighter one will get more attention in outdoor applications.
For outdoor fixed installations, such as advertising LED screen, traffic LED display, the viewing distance is far more than the indoor requirements. To be precise, for P10 outdoor LED screens, the ideal viewing distance is 10-30 meters. Compared with P16 LED display, the ideal viewing distance is 15-50 m. For most of the outdoor fixed projects, this viewing distance is close to the ideal viewing distance of P10 and P16 outdoor screen. In addition, both LED display can display very clear images at these viewing ranges.
Purchasing P16 LED screens is more cost-effective than P10 LED display. Compared to other below P10 SMD LED display, P10 and P16 are more economical. The smaller the pixel pitch of an LED screen, the more it costs for the same size.
P10 and P16 DIP LED displays have a longer lifespan than other outdoor SMD LED displays. The LEDs used in P10 and P16 have longer legs and larger dimensions than other SMD LEDs. In addition, their legs pass through the PCB, so the LEDs can be firmly fixed to the PCB after soldering with silicone. Because DIP LEDs are packaged in three separate packages and large chip sizes, they can dissipate heat better. Although SMD LEDs are encapsulated in one package, it is less suitable for heat dissipation.
In addition, SMD LEDs are mounted only on the surface of the PCB. Sometimes there is a problem of solder jumping. Outdoor LED screens have better heat dissipation and are more durable. As a result, P10 and P16 perform better in terms of heat radiation and have a longer lifespan than other outdoor SMD models.
